OWINGS MILLS, MD — A new luxury hotel in Owings Mills is the only one in Baltimore County to receive a Four Diamond award from the American Automobile Association (AAA). It is also among 10 Maryland hotels to earn the designation.
To be given the Four Diamond designation, AAA inspects facilities and determines they provide upscale amenities with a high level of service, including cleanliness, quality and condition.
These are the other Maryland hotels that have earned Four Diamond designations, according to AAA:
Marriott Owings Mills Metro Centre is managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.
"We are very proud and honored to have received this outstanding appointment," Crescent Hotels & Resorts President and CEO Michael George. ""AAA Four Diamond designation is a tremendous achievement in our industry and this is a testament to the hard work by our team at the Marriott Owings Mills Metro Centre. We're also very proud to bring an upscale, refined hotel to Baltimore County and we look forward to continuing to provide outstanding service to guests visiting our community."
A ribbon cutting took place on May 25 with representatives from shopping center owner David S. Brown Enterprises, Crescent Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International,Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Maryland Transportation Secretary James Ports and Councilman Julian Jones, organizers said. The ribbon cutting was followed by a celebration on the second floor of the hotel.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests were invited upstairs to the main event area for an extravagant grand opening celebration. "Food, drinks and entertainment flowed throughout the second floor event space of the hotel, into the ballroom and out onto the terrace overlooking Metro Centre," organizers said in a statement.
The hotel, which first opened in December, includes 229 guest rooms and suites; a full-service Starbucks; a 24-hour fitness center; common spaces; and The Tillery, an upscale full-service restaurant and bar.
