RANDALLSTOWN, MD — A grocery store in Randallstown sold a $50,000 lottery ticket recently.

The player purchased a ticket for the Money Explosion scratch-off game from the Food Lion at 8508 Liberty Road, according to the Maryland Lottery.

It costs $20 to play the game, and the Virginia woman said she purchased the ticket after traveling to see a relative get her diploma, as she was poised to return home to Fredericksburg, Va.

"When I saw the match that meant a $50,000 win, I was in disbelief," said Marrissa Carta, 40, who reportedly determined what to do with the prize while her husband examined the ticket.

"A close family member has been out of work for a while," Carta told the Maryland Lottery. "What a blessing to be able to help him through the tough times."
