Stevenson University Lockdown Lifted After Assault Incident

OWINGS MILLS - Stevenson University went into lockdown on Monday evening following an assault on campus. The shelter-in-place order was lifted later in the evening, and police have clarified that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

According to the Baltimore County Police Department, officers responded to reports of an assault on the 100 block of Campus Circle around 6:03 p.m. on Monday.

During the investigation, the university's administration instructed everyone on campus to shelter-in-place. Police stated that the incident was related to a targeted assault - not an active shooter event.
