OWINGS MILLS - A massive infrastructure project is set to kick off this fall in the Pikesville area.

Baltimore County has laid out plans to install approximately 9,500 feet of water main, which will extend north, traveling beneath I-695, reaching the Reservoir Circle office complex, then diverting westward along Hooks Lane and subsequently progressing north on Greene Tree Road.

This robust initiative will involve the installation of both 42-inch and 30-inch water mains, in addition to the creation of a 72-inch tunnel spanning across I-695. The project is expected to cost $20.2 million and is scheduled for completion by fall 2025.

The Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation is organizing a community input session to keep the community informed and address potential concerns. The meeting is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pikesville Library.

Additional details about the project are available on the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation website.
