OWINGS MILLS - Owings Mills High School staff confiscated a loaded BB gun from a student on Thursday, according to principal Terri Moses.

In an email to parents, Moses stated that school staff discovered the situation on Thursday morning and promptly located the student to seize the weapon. According to officials, the school day proceeded without disruptions following the incident.

The principal emphasized the collective responsibility of parents, students, and staff to report any suspicious activities or potential threats to either the school authorities or the police.

"Maintaining a safe and secure educational setting for our children is a shared responsibility for all of us," Moses noted.

Moses also took the opportunity to urge parents to talk to their children about the severe risks and consequences—both legal and academic—of bringing dangerous items or weapons to school.

"Any student caught with a weapon will face serious repercussions, both within the school system and legally," Moses warned in the email.
