Explosion Inside Vehicle Lead To Fatal Car Fire In Owings Mills

Update: Wednesday, August 30 at 1:30 p.m. - According to the Baltimore County Police Department, the incident was the result of an explosion inside the vehicle. The driver, 46-year-old Abayomi Adeleye, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The cause of Adeleye's death is pending review by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

OWINGS MILLS - A car fire in Owings Mills on Tuesday afternoon left one adult and a child injured, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The department said firefighters responded to a car fire at Northwest Regional Park on the 4500 block of Deer Park Road around 1:52 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult with severe injuries and a child who was assessed for injuries considered non-life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
