BCPS Launches User-Friendly App For Real-Time Student Updates

BALTIMORE COUNTY - Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) has rolled out a new smartphone app to keep parents in the loop about their children's education.

The BCPS Focus app offers users a singular login to access real-time data for their children's attendance, grades, and more. The app also facilitates enrollment and registration, allowing users to upload necessary documents such as permission slips.

Additionally, all school and district communications, including alerts and announcements, are available on the platform.

Jim Corns, the school district's chief of technology, told WBAL that the Team BCPS Focus app is user-friendly and mirrors the data available on the district's website, covering everything from academic schedules to event announcements.

"This is all about recognizing that, in the modern age, the idea of a computer, a laptop, or a desktop isn't necessarily how our parents and our stakeholders really engage. Everyone has a phone in their pocket that they want to be able to pull up the information immediately." Corns said.

The app is available for download on the Apple and Android app stores.
