BALTIMORE COUNTY - Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) will continue its annual tradition this summer, inviting students, teachers, and staff to share their experiences and adventures over the summer break on the BCPS blog.

Since 2018, BCPS has chronicled the stories of students, staff, and other team members who engage in self-growth and learning throughout the summer. The platform welcomes a variety of stories, from personal explorations, volunteering experiences, academic pursuits, and creative endeavors to memorable trips.

Submissions of blog posts or story ideas can be sent to communications@bcps.org.

"BCPS is a year-round family, and learning doesn't stop just because most of our students are no longer in their classrooms every day," BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams said. "Through this blog series, we celebrate the many ways that Team BCPS members continue to learn and grow over the summer. The blog welcomes stories about what Team BCPS members are creating, studying, practicing, exploring, where they might be going, and how they might be volunteering and contributing."

The previous year saw a diverse collection of stories, including an account of a Catonsville High School science teacher doubling as an athletic trainer for top-tier athletes, a student's take on the new student orientation at the Northwest Academy of Health Sciences, and the experience of the Maryland Teacher of the Year at NASA Space Camp.

School-specific activities included a mural painted by Loch Raven Technical Academy students to celebrate their visual arts magnet program, the Biomedical Science Camps at Franklin, Loch Raven, and Sollers Point Technical high schools by Project Lead the Way, and a Sparrows Point High School event where staff and volunteers visited the homes of incoming Grade 9 students.

To revisit past Summer Stories, BCPS encourages the community to visit the BCPS blog, where they can also subscribe to receive email notifications for new story updates.
