BALTIMORE COUNTY - In recognition of the Juneteenth National Independence Day, Baltimore County services and offices will be closed on Monday, June 19.

Juneteenth National Independence Day was established by President Joe Biden in 2021. The holiday honors the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, and it takes place every year on June 19.

The closures encompass government offices, District and Circuit Courts, Baltimore County Public Library branches, CountyRide van service, Towson Loop, and county-run senior centers.

Despite the closures, some services will remain operational. For instance, parking meters will still require payment, and Baltimore County Revenue Authority parking garages will be open as usual.

Trash and recyclable materials will be collected in accordance with the regular schedule, and county trash and recycling drop-off facilities will continue their usual operations.

Residents seeking additional recycling and trash collection information, including drop-off center locations and hours, can access it through the county's website at www.baltimorecountymd.gov/solidwaste.

Alternatively, contact the Bureau of Solid Waste Management at 410-887-2000.

For an overview of Baltimore County's holiday schedule, residents can refer to the Holiday Closing Calendar available on the county's official website.
