REISTERSTOWN - In response to community concerns over an increase in accidents at the junction of Reisterstown and Old Court Road, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has announced that it has resolved the signal timing issue affecting the intersection.

Community member Aryeh Goetz, along with several others, had previously raised the alarm about the safety of this area. Their concerted efforts led to an "Urgent Call to Action" posted on BJLife on May 6, drawing attention to the traffic problem.

Upon receiving the community's plea, the MDOT SHA launched an investigation into the intersection. They discovered a misalignment of the left turn camera detection, which they determined was causing issues with signal timing.

According to a response sent to Goetz, the department has since rectified the problem, and the intersection's signals are now operating correctly.

The department thanked Goetz and the community for their vigilance in highlighting traffic safety issues, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining safety along MD 140.

What they really have to do is place officers there to catch ALL of the people who run the red light there. That is what causes most of the accidents, all you have to do is sit there and watch. So the timing is off, how does that cause accidents by itself ??
