Eight PNC Branches Closing In Baltimore County: Report
BALTIMORE COUNTY - PNC Financial Services Group will close eight branches in Baltimore County, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.
According to the news service, PNC Bank (NYSE: PNC) has filed an advance notice of branch closures with the Maryland Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Seven of the eight branches set to close are located inside Giant grocery stores, a style of branch that PNC has been planning to close for months.
These closures are the first that PNC has filed in 2023. The bank notified the OCC late last year that it would close 11 branches in 2023. Five in Howard County and six in Southern Maryland.
According to the Business Journal, PNC's branch closure strategy is expected. The Baltimore area has seen banks cut costs dramatically as consumers switch to mobile banking.
