OWINGS MILLS - Additional police are on campus, and after-school activities were canceled on Tuesday after a threat was made against New Town High School in Owings Mills.

New Town Principal James Martin sent a letter to parents on Monday night confirming the threat and saying that his administration had notified the police. According to Martin, police have not yet verified the credibility of the threat.

Martin urged students and parents to inform school staff or police any time they see something suspicious, or that may be a potential threat to the school.

The nature of the threat was unspecified.
