OWINGS MILLS - Baltimore County officials unveiled the new Ravens playground at Northwest regional park on Monday.
Baltimore County first broke ground on the project on April 1st, 2022. The new 0.8-acre playground is entirely wheelchair accessible thanks to its vibrant purple rubberized surface. Other features include a challenge course, a 40-yard dash, custom climbing structures, and a 17-foot play system with slides.
The playground is located in Northwest Regional Park in Reisterstown, directly across from the Ravens training facility. The Baltimore Ravens donated $500,000 towards the playground's construction as a part of the NFL's Play 60 Initiative.
State and County funds have contributed the remaining $652,000 needed for the project. $350,000 came from Program Open Space, $152,000 from Local Parks and Playground Infrastructure money, and $150,000 from the Baltimore County government.
In a statement released in march, Ravens president Dick Cass noted the importance of community projects.
"It is critical that we continue to identify opportunities that positively impact the well-being of children in our communities."
