SEVERN, MD — County police on Wednesday announced they arrested two men in connection to a Severn shooting. The arrests came six months after officers said gunfire nearly hit a group exiting their car.

Authorities identified the arrestees as 18-year-old Rashard Dixon of Owings Mills and 23-year-old Taelur Thomas, who has addresses listed in Ft. Meade and Glen Burnie.

Officers said the shooting happened on April 3 around 9 p.m. in the 8200 block of Marlton Court.

Authorities said a group of people arrived home, and gunshots were fired toward them when they left their car.

The bullets did not hit anybody, but the Anne Arundel County Police Department said the gunfire damaged several vehicles and homes.

Witnesses reported seeing four male suspects run away into the woods at the end of Marlton Court, officers said. Authorities searched the area, but they could not find the suspects.

Police said they collected several spent shell casings as evidence.

Detectives said they eventually identified and charged two suspects months later.
