OCEAN CITY, MD — A Reisterstown man had a stroke of good luck when he got up early and purchased a scratch-off ticket while vacationing in Ocean City recently, according to lottery officials.
The 58-year-old elementary school teacher said he woke up his wife to tell her the good news after buying the ticket at the Acme on Coastal Highway and discovering his windfall.
It was not his first big win — the Reisterstown resident had also won $100,000 playing Racetrax last year, lottery officials reported.
He said he plans to use some of the money for his wife's and his retirement while giving some money discreetly to the couple's adult children.
“It is a nice bonus,” the winner said. “We are at a good point in our lives where we are financially secure. This gives us more security.”
For selling a top-tier ticket, the Acme in Ocean City also received $1,000, officials said.
I hope that the plan include walk paths, open spaces with seating to view nature and consequences for people littering, loitering and killing the wildlife.
I can’t believe these are our ‘leaders’. Drugs deals on every corner and in every parking lot. Johnny Clueless so concerned about low income earners, when they live better than the middle class. Garbage bags littered everywhere by mostly the people Johnny ‘entitled’ to county houses.
My concern about some of the logic being used here is that the problem isn't the plastic bags.
Let's talk about the people who are doing the littering. Full garbage bags placed on the streets and sideways. Garbage being thrown from cars and trucks. Pedestrians walking and eating..than throwing garbage on the ground. Dog walkers not picking up after their dogs. Etc..
