I-795 Pavement Project To Cause Closures: State Highway Administration
OWINGS MILLS, MD — A pavement testing and drilling operation will lead to single-lane closures and shoulder closures on Interstate 795 overnight starting Thursday, Aug. 11.
The closures will be on I-795 between Owings Mills Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.
Officials said the project is expected to last three weeks and may require flagging on Owings Mills Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard ramps.
Work and closures will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday to Thursday.
If there is bad weather, the testing and drilling may take place the following weeknights until the operation is complete, according to authorities.
Drivers should plan ahead by giving themselves extra time if their travels include this stretch of I-795. They should be mindful of mobile drilling equipment, testing team vehicles and work zone safety trailers.
The pavement testing is part of an ongoing commitment to evaluate conditions on Maryland's interstate highway system, the Maryland State Highway Administration said in a statement.
