Join us as we kickoff our first BHS Garden Club meeting! We will meet on March 12 at 10 a.m. outside of the Administrative Building.

Do you enjoy gardening? If so, we have an exciting volunteer opportunity for you! Our board president, Andrew Levine, is looking for volunteers to join our BHS Garden Club!

We want to upkeep and maintain the Baltimore Humane Society and Baltimore Humane Society Memorial Park’s beautiful campus. All levels of experience are welcome!

If you would like to attend please complete the volunteer online application 48-72 hours prior to the first meeting.

Here are some of our upcoming needs and goals:

-Watering our gardens throughout the spring and summer.

-Spring cleaning the gardening beds and adding fresh mulch.

-Plant annuals and annual seeds in the spring.

-Install window boxes outside the shelter and place planters at our building entrances.

-Adding new plants to our existing gardens.

-Pruning existing plants and deadheading flowers.

-Designing and building new gardens around the property for visitors to enjoy and relax.

-Install garden seating areas for our pet cemetery visitors.

-Install and maintain bird feeders.

-During Fall, prepare plants and gardening beds for cold weather months.
