ReplyWe went there only once and we were very disappointed. Our server wanted us to "bow down" to him and we have had much better food at Carraba's! Way overpriced and obviously a limited market for this "Italian venue with an attitude!!" Hopefully a "bistro" type will move there or better yet perhaps Santoni's can open a café serving their fare? I think if they added pizza that they would do well along with many of their signature items and a liquor license? Why not?

ReplySTOP...........We elected these people to the council as the voters have spoken we must now live with our choices. The salaries and other perks are little compensation for civic minded men and women whose lives are "refocused" for the 4 yrs. of their term. I suggest you critics see what the "personal" cost is for anyone elected to office. Your life becomes consumed with the meetings="part time" salaries but then it is the constituent services, the endless events, organizational visits, phone calls, it's never ending. So before getting to critical see what it takes to be a legislator. I assure you that those council members who must also work full time are paying the toll with their regular income and not to mention that their family life is totally compromised? How many of those sports events, school events of your own children would you be willing to miss so that you can do a community briefing on sewer enhancements or rezoning? If you don't like the current politics and elected officials then change the landscape in 2014. I doubt that you can or will so be respectful and thankful that we have dedicated individuals (republican or democrat) who are willing to change their lives to represent you and your interests! Thanks to all of our elected officials. Because none of their tenures will change in 2014 I assure you that they are doing great!

ReplyWhat about honoring the Franklin FIre station #56 who provides fire and EMS as well to the greater Reisterstown community especiallly when the RVFC doesn't feel like responding? They are always there 24/7 and don't get to pick/choose their calls?

ReplySteve to you and your staff THANK for all that you do. It is the infrastructure that we take for granted that keeps us all safe and moving forward. If anyone saw what these dedicated engineers make compared to the private sector you would be astonished. Given their education and experience they are doing much more for society than that multi million$$$ sports hero. Their work is invaluable and we should go out of our way to appreciate them not just this week but each and every week. From Director Ed Adams to the laborers DPW is on the "front lines" 24/7-365. THANKS..................for all tha you do.

On the article Miller Proposes Gas Tax For Transportation

ReplyMr. Miller just a few questions?
1. Who pays for your gas for your state issued car and "entourage"?
2. How much $$ can we save if State Troopers don't use their tax funded cars for their part time jobs? Just go to any TGIF on a Friday and Saturday night? Not to question the value of such vehicles just their use for part time employment while off duty and offerring no additional protection as they are then contracted employees where they are working?
3. How about those state issue take home cars that cross the border each day to DE, PA, WV, and VA. Yes it is happening.........
4. And what about those free meals for state employees at meetings and emergency activations etc.????? Can't they bring a bag lunch?
SO ..........before you tax us more along with the federal govt. let's cut the budget first.............. -

You can call it courage or conviction or whatever but at the end of the day it's just plain politics. The end result will be millions in additional bureaucracy and more limitation of constitutionally guaranteed rights! Would gun control have lessened the carnage at Columbine, Aurora, Blacksburg or Newtown??? No in each of these cases we had psychopathic individuals who were intent on their actions? How about on the streets of Baltimore? I am sure that the drug based gangs are "cringing" over this legislation. Never mind our borders where our own government turns its deaf ear to illegal "gun running" daily and where we now issue driver's licenses and tuition discounts to those who enter here illegally! How about we just get back to plain Judaeo-christian values that have allowed us to be civil throughout hundreds of years of western settlement on this continent. It wasn't until the "liberal" agenda beginning in the 60s that we saw the moral decay within our society. Now we justify anything under our "contemporary moral barometer" What's next after we legalize marijuana? why not euthanasia? Does anyone get it. Let's look at gun related crime statistics a year from now and then I will join all of you to thank our courageous leaders in Annapolis.
