On the article County Will Brighten Main Street Light Fixtures

ReplyThe Reisterstown Improvement Association appreciates the attention the Baltimore County Traffic Engineering & Transportation Planning Department is giving the Historic Main Street Business District. One lamppost was replaced awhile back after it was knocked down by a truck and another one had the lenses and bulb replaced this morning along Main Street. I spoke with the workers and was shown one of the lenses that was replaced today. You could not see through the lens that was replaced and they cannot be cleaned. At night time the light appears yellow and provides no light on the ground area underneath. Our concern is with people who walk or jog at night time and their safety. We are encouraging more people to visit one of the fine restaurants in our area at night and hopefully more merchants will stay open after 5 or 6 PM. In addition we are trying to attract more businesses to open along Main Street and lighting is very important. Four or Five more lampposts will have their lenses and bulbs replaced in the next week to ten days. Hopefully all of the lampposts will have their lenses and bulbs replaced in the coming weeks and months.

ReplyIt's nice to see that McDonald's is willing to spend over $2.5 million dollars to rebuild and update a new building and install new lighting. Hopefully they will improve the sight lines for puliing off their lot onto Reisterstown Road. There are signs and shrubbery that block views of oncoming traffic when trying to exit currently.

On the article 6 Songs To Celebrate Ravens’ Super Bowl Victory

ReplyIn the Ravens early years they played the Cure's version of Purple Haze. Great version! Hendrix's version is also a classic song.
In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins - it seems this song is timeless and hardly a day goes by a radio station somewhere isn't playing it.
Lose Yourself by Eminem the clean edited version is played before home games as the players stand in the tunnel and get ready to run on the field.
We Will Rock You by Queen another timeless song played at many sporting events.
It's My Life by Bon Jovi is also played at Ravens games and is uplifting.
Great Season Ravens! We can't claim the Ravens in Reisterstown but our Ravenstown banners on Main Street let them know how we feel about them and make them feel at home when the players and coaches drive through town and eat at several of our restaurants. Congratulations to Steve Bisciotti, Ozzie Newsome, John Harbaugh and coaches and Eric DeCosta who gets overlooked too often.

I'm sorry to hear that you are leaving Main Street Lauretta. We talked about the possibility of you closing Constellation Books a few weeks ago. I had hoped that sales would pick up and things might change for you. Your store served a need for people who preferred less crowded areas and traffic issues they experience at Malls and large shopping centers. I've enjoyed working with you on the Bloomin ArtFest committee for a number of years and appreciate your participation at our Reisterstown Improvement Association meetings. I'm glad to hear that you will continue to be involved in the community.
