A police trainee was shot during a training exercise in Owings Mills Tuesday afternoon.

A University of Maryland police trainee was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma after being shot during a training exercise Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed. Baltimore City Police have a training facility on Rosewood Lane in Owings Mills, but Detective Angela Carter-Watson, a police spokeswoman, could only confirm that the incident occurred in Owings Mills at 2:36 p.m. ABC2 News reported that the incident happened at the Rosewood Center on Rosewood Lane. At 3 p.m., Carter-Watson said the trainee was being transported by medevac to Maryland Shock Trauma. The nature of the injuries was still under investigation, she said. Off-Duty City Police Officer Arrested in Towson

The officer was acting belligerent and pointed his gun at two men.

An off-duty Baltimore City Police officer was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment after pointing his departmentally-issued handgun at people in Towson. Matthew David Daugherty, 28, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning and later released on $75,000 bail. Baltimore County Police responded to the Rec Room at 512 York Road in Towson at 2:15 a.m., where an employee told them an intoxicated off-duty city officer was acting belligerent and saying he had a gun. UPDATE, 12:23 p.m. Oct. 2: A Baltimore City Police officer was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries after an accident on his motorcycle on 795 in Owings Mills Tuesday morning. The officer, who is assigned to the city police’s special operations section, was traveling north on 795 near Owings Mills Boulevard at 8:18 a.m. when his motorcycle struck the metal connecting portion of the roadway between the road and the overpass.
