Michael Jerome Rosenberg, 44, of the 400 block of Academy Avenue in Owings Mills, was charged Sunday with attempted murder and first-degree assault. The charges stem from a violent incident in which Rosenberg's roommate was slashed multiple times with a 12-inch knife during an argument, according to a police report. The alleged victims of an attempted murder made up their story, Baltimore County Police said.

There was no murder attempt outside the Owings Mills Metro Subway station last weekend, Baltimore County Police said. Two women told police that two other women attacked them in a Metro Subway parking lot at 6:18 p.m. on Jan. 21. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the county's Franklin Precinct. "We're convinced the entire incident didn't take place," Doarnberger said.
