Several Franklin High alumni, including yours truly, will take the stage at the school Monday night to perform selections from three of our musical projects, and jam with our music teachers.

I’ve performed all over the East Coast, jammed with musicians in Australia and Amsterdam, and played headlining shows at Baltimore’s Rams Head Live. But, there’s nothing quite like coming home. Monday night, I couldn’t be more at home. I’ll be taking the stage at Franklin High School with five other musicians who graduated from the school. We’ll be playing songs from three of our musical projects: The Skakabobs (which started while we were all still students at Franklin), The Rez and At The Zoo. Joining me on stage will be Harrison Brazier on vocals, guitar and trombone, Carson Korman on bass, Dave Cavalier on drums, Tyler Wheeler on saxophone and guitar and Adam Schuman on trumpet. Kayam Farm Hosts Fourth Jewish Learning Weekend

The eco-friendly Reisterstown Farm’s fourth annual Beit Midrash features family friendly programming, three different learning tracks and a barn party.

Each year, Kayam Farm’s Beit Midrash gets bigger and better. The Hebrew words mean “house of study,” and this weekend’s event offers opportunities to learn about the Sabbatical year and Jewish agricultural laws and take part in communal prayer, celebration and rituals. The annual festivity started four years at the eco-friendly farm in Reisterstown when a group people decided to study agricultural Biblical text for a weekend. “The next year it was like, ‘Hey. Let’s try to make this a bigger thing and get people and get teachers and let’s do some programming,’” said Lisa Bodziner, Kayam Farm’s director of special programs. Each year the program has grown, and last year’s Beit Midrash had 175 participants, which the farm hopes to match this …
