Baltimore County Police were working with Katie Hadel to keep her safe from the man who is accused of killing her. “We were deeply concerned for her safety,” said police spokeswoman Elise Armacost. Hadel, 33, was found stabbed to death in her Owings Mills apartment Tuesday night. Katie Hadel has been described as “gorgeous,” “great” and a “beautiful spirit” by her Facebook friends. Since her death on Tuesday night, friends have posted memories and condolences on Hadel’s Facebook wall. Hadel was stabbed Tuesday night in her Owings Mills apartment, and pronounced dead at the scene. “The universe lost a beautiful spirit with your passing. It was too soon. Baltimore County Police have charged an Annapolis man with murder in the death of Owings Mills resident Katie Hadel. Jeffrey Michael Shiflett, 33, of the 1700 block of Saint Margarets Road in Annapolis, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to a Baltimore County Police press release. He was arrested without incident Wednesday morning shortly after 11 a.m. when an officer spotted him walking on the street in the Reisterstown area, police said. Police have identified a man who stabbed by his roommate in Owings Mills Thursday afternoon.
An Owings Mills man is charged with attempted murder and assault after he stabbed his roommate Thursday afternoon. Luis Alonso Andrade-Medrano, 34, of the 9000 block Reisterstown Road, is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to a Baltimore County Police press release. Orlando Martinez, 43, was flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma after the stabbing. He is expected to live, police said. UPDATED 8:43 p.m. Jan 31: A man was flown to shock trauma after a stabbing in Owings Mills Thursday afternoon. Baltimore County Police responded to Elite Lock and Key, located at 9925 Reisterstown Road, at 3:59 p.m. and found an adult male with at least one stab wound. The man was stabbed at an unknown location and went to Elite Lock and Key after the stabbing, according to a police press release. He was transported to an area hospital by medevac with life-threatening injuries, said Baltimore County Police Cpl. John Wachter. The incident is still under investigation, police said.

Baltimore County police arrested two men last week in the Sept. 30, 2009, stabbing death of Rodney Lewis in his Randallstown home. On Jan. 2, police arrested Eric Isaiah Johnson, according to a news release. Then, on Jan. 3, police arrested Leonard Briscoe. Both have been charged with first-degree murder. At about 4 p.m. Sept. 30, 2009, officers went to the Lewis' residence in the 9500 block of Liberty Road. During their investigation, police found out that Johnson was staying with Lewis and Lewis' wife. A woman was stabbed in Owings Mills Wednesday night and suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.
A Wednesday night stabbing in Owings Mills that sent one woman to Shock Trauma was not a random crime, according to Baltimore County Police. The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries in the attack, which occurred at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday. “It is not random,” said Louise Rogers-Feher, a Baltimore County Police spokeswoman. Police have charged a 23-year-old man with attempted murder in the stabbing of his father during an argument Friday night. Jonathan Suss was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault after he allegedly stabbed his father while inside the family home. Police were called to Melissa Court in Owings Mills Friday at 6:30 p.m. and found that Suss’ 58-year-old father had suffered multiple stab wounds during an argument with his son. The man was taken to the hospital, but was listed in stable condition late Friday night.
