Essex Man Charged in Shooting of Off-Duty Police Officer

An 18-year-old man stands accused of attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, among other charges.

Police have charged an 18-year-old man in the shooting of an off-duty police officer in Overlea. Essex resident Michael Jabateh, 18, was charged with attempted first degree murder after an incident in which police describe a man opening fire on a car driven by an off-duty police officer. The officer was trying to maneuver his personal car through a crowd of juveniles and young adults that blocked the roadway after leaving a party in 700 block of Dale Avenue. Journal Entries Result in Eight Burglary Charges

Police say a 22-year-old Lutherville woman wrote about the Parkville and Cockeysville homes she allegedly burglarized.

For some, a journal is a place to keep their secrets but one Lutherville woman's journal entries resulted in eight burglary charges. Emily Kearns, 22, of the unit block of Elphin Court, is charged with a series of nine burglaries that span areas in both Cockeysville and Parkville precincts. Kearns was arrested on Dec. 4 when detectives, who were keeping her under surveillance, saw her break into a home in the unit block of Country Club Lane and attempt to break into a home in the unit block of Greentree Drive in the Phoenix area, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Investigation Reveals Shot Officer's Weapon Fired

An off-duty police officer was shot in an Overlea area neighborhood in the early morning Dec. 9.

An off duty police officer who was shot in Overlea nearly two weeks ago was able to fire at least two rounds during the attack. A police department investigation found that two rounds were fired from weapon of the Baltimore County police officer shot when a gunman emerged from an unruly crowd near Dale Avenue and Danville Road on Dec. 9, according to an email from police spokeswoman Elise Armacost. "Investigators have not yet determined the context in which the weapon was fired," Armacost wrote, adding that police were able to confirm the officer had not been shot with his own weapon. Gunman Emerges from Crowd, Shoots Off-Duty Officer

An off-duty Baltimore County Police Department officer was shot twice in the Overlea area Sunday morning after a gunman emerged from a crowd. At 3:24 a.m. police found the officer, suffering from two gunshot wounds, at Dale Avenue and Danwood Road, according to a report from Baltimore County police. Police found out that a "large group of people" had been blocking the street, and that the off-duty officer had "stopped his vehicle and asked them to move so he could pass," the report states. "A male emerged from the crowd with a gun and fired several shots into the victim's car, striking him twice," it states. Police Investigate Facebook Comments In Wake Of Parkville Murders

The man accused of killing his wife and another man over the weekend may have made comments about marital troubles on the social network in the days leading up to the stabbing.

The man arrested for the stabbing death of his wife and another man in Parkville Sunday morning may have made comments about marital troubles on Facebook in the days leading up to the killings. Beginning in late October, a man using the same name as the man arrested and charged in the crime—Bryant Walls—posted to Facebook complaining of marital trouble. Police have said since Walls turned himself in that domestic issues were a possible motive in the killings. A police spokeswoman could not immediately confirm the messages were written by Walls, 45, of the 300 block of Pulaski Highway in Joppa. Baltimore Man Charged with Killing Bar Security Guard

Police have charged a suspect for allegedly stabbing a a Tee Bee's Bar bouncer to death.

A Baltimore man has been charged with stabbing a Tee Bee's Bar security guard to death, according to Baltimore County police.  Haywood Trice, 25, of the 1500-block of N. Wolfe Street, is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.  Trice allegedly stabbed and killed Tavares Jones, a Tee Bee's Bar security guard, who was attempting to break up a fight at the Parvkille bar last Saturday.  "Just after 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, 2012, County Police responded to the bar for a fight call," police spokesman Shawn Vinson wrote in a release. "Upon arrival, officers learned that a fight between two women escalated into a fight between several people. A drug-deal-turned-robbery resulted in the shooting death of an Owings Mills man at Taylor Park Apartments in the Overlea area June 12. Police have arrested 21-year-old Linwood Tymais Smith and 24-year-old DeAngelo Devonne Johnson and charged them with armed robbery and first-degree murder in last week's slaying of Miguiel Anthony Bailey. A statement of charges released by the police department Thursday afternoon reveals that Bailey and a friend, unnamed in the report, met with Smith and Johnson to transact a deal for a quarter-pound of marijuana. County police say they have a second man in custody for the June 12 murder of Miguiel Anthony Bailey.

A second man has been arrested in connection with the June 12 murder of an Owings Mills man on Mopec Circle. Police say they have taken 24-year-old DeAngelo Devonne Johnson, of the unit block of Delight Avenue in Fullerton into custody. He faces charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery in connection with the June 12 shooting death of Miguiel Anthony Bailey. Last Tuesday Bailey, an Owings Mills resident, was found shot to death in the back seat of his Chevrolet Impala on Mopec Circle in the Overlea area. Baltimore County police have made an arrest in the June 12 murder of Miguiel Bailey.

UPDATE (2:05 p.m.)—A 21-year-old Cedonia man is under arrest and charged with the June 12 murder of an Owings Mills man who was found dead in his car on Mopec Circle. Linwood Tymais Smith of the 4900 block of Todd Avenue is charged  with first-degree murder in the death of Miguiel Bailey, according to a statement released by the Baltimore County Police Department. Smith is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. Bailey, an Owings Mills man, was found shot to death in the back seat of his Chevrolet Impala in the unit block of Mopec Circle on June 12. Owings Mills Man Shot, Found Dead Near Taylor Park Apartments

The 22-year-old man was found dead in his car Tuesday night.

Police have released the identity of an Owings Mills man shot and found dead in Parkville Tuesday night. Miguiel Anthony Bailey was found dead in his own dark blue Chevrolet Impala after emergency personnel responded to the unit block of Mopec Circle around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Police discovered his body after being called to investigate a report of a man sleeping in his car, according to a statement released by the Baltimore County Police Department. They found Bailey, 22, of the 4700 block of Dark Star Way in Owings Mills, shot multiple times in his torso. He was declared dead at the scene, according to police.
