New Hair Studio Opens in Owings Mills

Hot Air Blow Dry Bar offers washing and blow-drying services to women, men and children.

When Joy Robinson Singer and Kate Boyle Taylor were in California for a friend’s wedding in September, they found themselves a salon that offered a unique experience. “We immediately were enamored by it,” Singer said in a press release. “The experience was so terrific and different, including the serving of wine and coffee, that we decided to bring this idea back to our hometown.” In March, the two friends opened Hot Air Blow Dry Bar at Valley Village Shoppes in Owings Mills. It offers “quick-fix” washing and blowdrying for women, men and children, and also offers up-dos, head massages and conditioning treatments. The Hot Air Blow Dry Bar is located at 9101 Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills. It is open Tuesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.; …

Playoff Bar & Grill Open in Cherry Valley Shopping Center

The family-friendly restaurant and bar, which serves a mix of Italian and American food, is now open.

Playoff Bar & Grill recently opened in the Cherry Valley Shopping Center. The restaurant features a mix of moderately priced Italian and American food with seafood, steaks, wings, nachos and a kids menu. It is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., with a seven-day liquor license. The restaurant is owned and operated by Tony Illiano and Mike Heyman. Illiano and his brother, Mike, have been doing business in Baltimore County for 33 years. Together, they own Vito’s Pizza restaurants in Owings Mills,Pikesville and the Towson area. The restaurant/bar will be open for the Super Bowl on a first-come, first-serve basis to customers with food and drink specials. There will be a DJ after the game.

I've been there and they have great food and great atmosphere and so much of a cut above those other 2 or 3 alleged "sports bars" in the Reisterstown area! Overall a great place!   more ›

Aaron's Opens at Cherry Valley Shopping Center

Aaron's offers lease-to-own purchase options on including furniture, electronics, appliances and more.

Aaron's opened its doors in Reisterstown on Friday, Feb. 1, at the Cherry Valley Shopping Center. The store offers offers lease-to-own options on furniture, electronics, appliances and more. A grand opening ceremony will be held on 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, featuring free food, face painting, giveaways and radio personalities. The store, located at 11712 Reisterstown Road, Suite A, will be open Monday - Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store will be closed on Sundays. Aaron's is looking to partner with local charities as part of its community outreach. Those interested in working with the store can contact general manager Al Simon at 410-517-1084.

Store Owner Makes Fresh Start With New Produce Shop

Allfresh Produce Market hopes to provide customers with what they want while promoting good eating habits.

Opening a business was just a blip on Joel Njoroge's radar six months ago. Now, Allfresh Produce Market is the latest addition to the Brookside business plaza, opening its doors Dec. 20. It is located next door to Yuki Sushi. "I researched, I talked to a few people that have done it before," Njoroge said. And just before Christmas, he and his wife and co-owner, Caroline, did it. It's their first business, Njoroge said. Allfresh appears to be the second all-produce alternative in Owings Mills, with Haymana Produce Market across from New Towne Diner on the north side of I-795.
