A student told police he was robbed of his marijuana after an uninvolved student witnessed the incident.
Four students were suspended and three charged with robbery and assault after five bags of marijuana were stolen during a robbery at Franklin High School, police said. “The victim admitted to having it,” said Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Baltimore County Police’s Franklin precinct. On Thursday, May 9, between 9:30 and 10 a.m., one student carried the victim to the bathroom, where another helped him commit the robbery and a third stood outside to be a lookout, Doarnberger said. “There was an uninvolved student who reported it to the administation, and then we got involved,” he said. Bringing more than two decades of combined playing and coaching experience to the table, Kyle Locke is set to take over school’s boys basketball program.
Looking to get its boys basketball team back on the winning track, Franklin High School’s athletic department announced this week that they’ve selected the man to lead them in that direction. Coppin State University alumnus Kyle Locke, whose career resume includes 15 years of coaching experience along with a prestigious collegiate and prep career, will pilot the Indians boys hoops program in the 2012-13 season. The 38-year-old takes over for previous head coach Kieran O’Connell, who—after five years at the helm—stepped down to pursue an administrative position, Franklin athletic director Rich Reed said. “We’re looking for coach Locke to get the boys program back in the right direction and rejuvenate excitement for winter sports,” Reed said…

College Board released data that shows Maryland schools have the highest percentage of students scoring a '3' or higher on the exam.
Students in Maryland public schools have the highest percentage of seniors achieving a score of 3 or higher on Advanced Placement exams in the country, according to data released by the College Board. Isaiah Lamb surprised himself by making Franklin's varsity basketball squad this fall. Already impressed, his teammates and coaches foresee even greater things for the freshman in the future.
When basketball tryouts rolled around in November, freshman Isaiah Lamb envisioned himself being a solid player on the JV. His prediction was partially correct. Lamb, who can play both guard and forward, did perform well enough in the preseason to earn himself a starting spot in the season’s opening game against Lansdowne—only it was as a member of the varsity squad. It didn’t take Lamb very long to grasp that he was competing against players of a different level. Just minutes into the game, he tried to dribble by a defender who forcefully snatched the ball right out of his hands.
