Singing for Seniors

Local Parish sings for residents of FutureCare Cherrywood last night.

Nearly 60 visitors filled the halls at senior facility FutureCare Cherrywood, singing carols and wishing residents a merry Christmas on Wednesday evening. The carolers were from Sacred Heart Parish of Glyndon, which runs a number of youth programs that often visit the residents at FutureCare. The kids, in a group called Faith in Action, passed out hand-made ornaments and candy canes to residents, who greeted them with smiles. The group sang nearly every Christmas favorite from "Frosty the Snowman" to "Silent Night." They first gathered in the dining hall, where they started singing, and then proceeded down the halls waving and shaking hands.
