Update: Demolition at Reisterstown Shopping Center

Tenants speak about the demolition and their hopes for future development.

With all the changes happening at the Reisterstown Shopping Center how are tenants adjusting and what are their hopes for the future of the center? Just a few tenants remain on the center's west retail strip which is expected to be demolished after they relocate. Other tenants are settling into new locations. Fred Havelock who owns Custom Eyes is one of the remaining tenants. His business has been located here since 1994 but he expects to move within the year. "We are in talks with the landlord.  We have a pre-agreement and lease," he said, adding, "It's pretty much all wrapped up except a location and moving." Havelock expects the west retail strip will be demolished soon after he relocates his store.  "My lease [here] is up at the end …

Reisterstown has needed a homey type of Hardware Store since Hechingers closed. Running up to Owings Mills or Westmiinster for home hardware is a pain in the tusch.Also, a local 3 screen Movie House would be an enticement for Family Fun, and a way to give our children something to do in this activity starved community.   more ›
