Clash of the Tech Titans: the iPad vs. the Laptop
While the iPad offers users a convenient, easy-to-carry alternative to a laptop, its limitations might have some users sticking to the tried and true.
Nearly 20 million iPads have been sold since the device came out in April, and the numbers do not seem to be declining. Apple has created something that seems so user-friendly that many are finding that their laptops are getting dusty. The iPad has a Safari web browser, iTunes, mail, photo browser, book reader, GPS applications and a plethora of downloadable apps. With a 10-hour battery life, it seems to have all the things one would need from a laptop and then some. However, there are some limitations. The iPad cannot render websites that use Flash, which has been the standard for creating animated and interactive websites for years. Many sites are written exclusively in Flash.
