All Good Festival Moves to Ohio

After nine years in West Virginia, the 16th annual festival will take place near Columbus, Ohio, in July 2012.

The 16th annual All Good Festival will take place in Thornville, Ohio, after nine years in West Virginia. While the recent West Virginia site, Marvin’s Mountaintop, was a short three-and-a-half hour drive from Baltimore, the new site is about six-and-a-half hours from Baltimore. In a statement to fans, All Good organizers said they thought about the hardships fans went through getting onto the mountain in recent years. “We had to take a hard look at the negative impact the West Virginia site had on you, our fans, who sometimes spent four to six hours covering the last five miles under close scrutiny from authorities,” the statement said. “We had to weigh the impact of our traffic and presence on the local population and local officials who…

End of an Era for Iconic Baltimore Band, The Bridge

The Bridge will take the stage for the last time at Rams Head Live tonight.

The Bridge was on its spring tour promoting the newly released album National Bohemian, praised by critics as perhaps the band’s most poignant recording, when its members had to face something that had become all too familiar in their 10 years on the road: a low-paying show that would boast a modest crowd at best. The band even considered canceling its tour. “It just kinda fell apart one day,” saxophone player Patrick Rainey recalled. Over breakfast, the band decided to cancel only its Birmingham, AL, show and drive to New Orleans to continue its tour. Then came the breakdown that would lead to the band’s breakup.
