Jumper Commits Suicide on 795

A man jumped from a bridge onto 795, killing himself Monday night.

A male committed suicide by jumping off a bridge onto I-795 in Owings Mills Monday night. At 9:36 p.m., a man jumped from the Pleasant Hill Road bridge onto 795 Northbound, Maryland State Police Sgt. Arthur Horton said. He was a 43-year-old Reisterstown resident, according to The Baltimore Sun. Witnesses said the man was hit by multiple vehicles, but those drivers didn't stop, The Sun reported. Northbound traffic on the roadway was at a stand-still just before 10 p.m. and other motorists were being directed off the freeway via the Owings Mills Boulevard exit. Southbound traffic was not stopped. Police were still at the scene at 10:50 p.m., Horton said.

Owings Mills Blvd Ramp to Close Overnight Monday

The Maryland State Highway Administration will close the ramp from Owings Mills Boulevard westbound overnight on Monday to repair pavement.

On Monday, Dec. 10, the Maryland State Highway Administration will temporarily close the ramp from Owings Mills Boulevard westbound to I-795 southbound from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tueday, Dec. 11. The temporary closure will allow SHA workers to repair pavement, according to an SHA press release. There will be no roadwork on Interstate 795 this weekend until Sunday night, according to the press release. The roadwork schedule is as follows: Weekdays: Single lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday. Weeknights: Single lane closures 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning Sunday - Thursday, with double lane closures after 10 p.m. if needed.

No 795 Roadwork This Weekend

Work on Interstate 795 will resume Sunday night.

There will be no roadwork on Interstate 795 this weekend until Sunday night, according to a press release from the Maryland State Highway Administration. The roadwork schedule is as follows: Weekdays: Single lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday. Weeknights: Single lane closures 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning Sunday - Thursday, with double lane closures after 10 p.m. if needed.

Motorists may want to plan for extra travel time during lane closures on I-795.

Motorists traveling on Interstate 795 will notice several lane closures throughout the upcoming week and Maryland State Highway Administration workers replace concrete on the freeway. The following lane closures will occur on I-795 northbound and southbound between Owings Mills and the I-695 junction. Weekends: Single lane closures at 7 p.m., double lane closures after 10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, with all lanes open by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22. Weekdays: Single lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday. Weeknights: Single lane closures 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning Sunday - Thursday, with double lane closures after 10 p.m. if needed.

No Serious Injuries in Rt. 140 Accident

Baltimore County Police said there were no serious injuries in a multi-car collision this morning.

Although police are still figuring out the details of what happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, there were no serious injuries in an accident on Maryland Route 140 in Reisterstown. A chain reaction may have happened when a truck lost part of its load between Nob Hill Park Drive and the Interstate 795 junction, said Baltimore County Police spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher. At least four vehicles may have been involved, and because of the complexity of the accident, police are still piecing together the chain of events, Rogers-Feher said. Stay with Patch for updates.

UPDATE: City Police Officer Not Critical After 795 Crash

A Baltimore City Police officer sustained non-life threatening injuries after a motorcycle accident on I-795 Tuesday morning.

UPDATE, 12:23 p.m. Oct. 2: A Baltimore City Police officer was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries after an accident on his motorcycle on 795 in Owings Mills Tuesday morning. The officer, who is assigned to the city police’s special operations section, was traveling north on 795 near Owings Mills Boulevard at 8:18 a.m. when his motorcycle struck the metal connecting portion of the roadway between the road and the overpass. His motorcycle began to sway back and forth, and to avoid striking other vehicles, he laid his motorcycle on its side, causing it to slide on the pavement, according to a Maryland State Police press release. Lane and Ramp Closures on 795 This Weekend

Motorists should plan for extra travel time or plan to use an alternate routes as State Highway workers perform concrete repair work.

The Maryland State Highway Administration will close one lane and interchange ramps along I-795 between Owings Mills Boulevard and I-695 to remove and replace concrete. 795, 695 Roadwork This Weekend

Maryland State Highway Administration workers will be performing work on 795 and 695 this weekend.

Motorists might want to plan for some extra travel time this weekend as Maryland State Highway Administration workers repair concrete and inspect bridges. Workers will be performing pavement repair and concrete patching on I-795 South between McDonogh Road and I-695 on Saturday and Sunday. The right lane will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday and should reopen by 3 p.m. Sunday. The ramp from northbound Owings Mills Boulevard to I-795 South will close at midnight on Sunday and reopen by 7 p.m. There will also be a double right lane closure on the inner loop of I-695 over Jones Falls and the southbound I-83 ramp will be closed with a detour in place from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday for a routine bridge inspection.

Overnight Work on 795 Sunday and Monday

Maryland State Highway Administration workers will be removing top layers of concrete from parts of 795 Sunday and Monday overnight.

Maryland State Highway Administration workers will be milling—removing the top layer of pavement—from two 795 ramps Sunday and Monday overnight. The northbound ramp to the Owings Mills Town Center will be closed for milling from 11 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17. The southbound ramp to westbound Owings Mills Boulevard will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18.

795 Ramp To Mall Closed Monday and Tuesday

The State Highway Administration will be removing the top layer of pavement from the northbound 795 ramp to the Owings Mills Mall on Monday and Tuesday.

The Maryland State Highway Administration will be removing the top layer of pavement from the ramp to the Owings Mills mall on I-795 northbound early next week. The ramp will be closed on Monday, Sept. 10, and Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 11 p.m. the night before until 5 a.m. each morning.
