The church's history dates back to 1764, when John Reister, the founder of Reisterstown, set aside a quarter-acre forMore a cemetery, school and small church. That building was torn down in 1854. A two-story church was built in 1867, and was later replaced in 1907 by the current sanctuary. The church's stained glass windows, which are easy to see from Main Street, were designed by a German artist and made using glass imported from Europe.

The church offers Sunday school, a confirmation program and a youth group.

The historic Reisterstown Community Cemetery is located just off of Main Street on Cockeys Mill Road, next to theMore Reisterstown Library. It is supported solely through donations and volunteer work. Walking though this little cemetery is like walking though history. Established in 1764 by John Reister, the Reisterstown Community Cemetery is the final resting place of veterans from the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War (both Union and Confederate), the Spanish-American War, World War I, and World War II. Many of the names found here are now the names of familiar roads and towns. In all, there are over 500 grave stones in the cemetery, and over 800 documented burials.
