Itsy and Slim Jim Are The Pets of the Week

Itsy and Slim Jim are the Pets of the Week.

This week's Pets of the Week at Baltimore Humane Society are Itsy and Slim Jim. Here's what they each have to say:

Itsy:

Hello. My name is Itsy and I was originally adopted from BHS as a tiny puppy, but as I got bigger, my family realized I was too much for them to handle. I am back at BHS hoping to find my forever home with a new family who understands that I am still growing and have a lot of energy. Since I am still young, it would benefit me to go to training classes and it would be great fun for me and my new family. I enjoy being around people and playing with toys, but sometimes I can get over-excited and be a bit nippy so I’d do best with children who are at least 8 years old. My previous owner said that I like to chase cats for fun, but if you have a cat let us know so I can be cat tested here at BHS.  We would also do a dog intro if you do have another dog to make sure everyone gets along. If you are looking to adopt a fun loving, young and energetic dog like me then please visit BHS soon.

Slim Jim:

Slim Jim's my name. That's because when I came into the shelter I was barley 4 pounds. (I'm a hefty 10 pounds now!) I was extremely underweight and dehydrated. I was found in a nice man’s garage and my hair was all oily. Once the nice staff here gave me a bath, gave me yummy food, and some fluids... I was a new cat! Since I was found in a garage the staff thinks that I may have had some chemicals on me. About half of my body has chemical burns, but I am healing very well. The only bad thing is that my hair might not grow back in those areas. But that's okay, my personality makes up for it!! I've had a tough little life so far. But it all gets better from here. On a positive note, I love to play with toys and make little chirping noises while I play. I'm staff members Krystal's favorite kitten!! She spoils me. I love to be held like a baby and loved on. I also love to rub my face all over people's faces. Cute, huh? I really like dogs and other kitties. I want all the attention I can get either from people or other animals. Please consider adopting a sweet little guy like myself. See ya soon!

The adoption fee is $165 for Itsy, and $105 for Slim Jim. Plus get a $5 off Hills Science Diet pet food coupon!

I have known Susan for many years. We were in Child Study together when my children were young.Read More She is a wonderful woman & I am proud to see her honored for her work with Linda. I also have gotten to know Linda from hanging at Mars & the Dollar Store. Linda & I have become friendly & I have had her over for dinner a few times and recently had a birthday party for her at my house. Linda is a wonderful woman and she is lucky to have Susan working with her. When I had Linda over for her birthday she talked about the award banquet, but she led us to believe the award was for Susan. When I took her home, I saw the award & realized it was for Linda. I'm excited for both women & proud to say that I know them both! Nancy Hoffman
