Brutus and Lucy Are the Pets of the Week

Brutus and Lucy are looking for homes.

This week's Pets of the Week at Baltimore Humane Society are Brutus and Lucy. Here's what they each have to say--

Brutus:

Brutus is my name, playing is my game.  I'm a big boy who loves people. I enjoy going on hikes and playing tug-o-war. I've been here at BHS for over a year now. I LOVE the people here.  They’re like my family, but I need to find a family to call my own. It's stressful to be in a shelter for over a year and I need a vacation! Maybe you would you be able to give me a foster vacation? I've had a couple of "girlfriends" here at the shelter that I like to have play dates with, so if you have another dog we could meet and see how it goes.  The staff calls me a ladies man. I'm not too sure what that means...but I'll take any compliment I can get! One thing — I'm not too good with cats.  I'm a staff favorite here and they really want to see me happy and in my forever home. Please come visit with me. I love meeting new people!

Lucy:

Hello. My name is Lucy and I am a senior cat, 8 yrs old.   I was originally adopted from BHS in 2004, but was brought back recently because my previous owner said I was having litterbox issues. Sometimes cats have these issues if the box isn't cleaned or scooped on a daily basis or if the type of litter used is not litter the cat likes to use. Stress or changes in the household can also contribute.  So can a UTI.  There are preventative things that can actually be done to help the situation. The best thing to do is take your cat to the vet if it has litterbox issues, and in my case that was not done. My owner decided to bring me back instead. I am very skittish and timid, but I’ll let you pet me once I feel comfortable with you. Please consider me if you are looking for an adult cat (senior) who just needs a loving and understanding home. I am hoping to see you soon. Thank you.

The adoption fee for Brutus is $82.50 for Brutus, a Lonely Hearts Club Member, and FREE for Lucy. Plus get a free bag of starter food!

I have known Susan for many years. We were in Child Study together when my children were young.Read More She is a wonderful woman & I am proud to see her honored for her work with Linda. I also have gotten to know Linda from hanging at Mars & the Dollar Store. Linda & I have become friendly & I have had her over for dinner a few times and recently had a birthday party for her at my house. Linda is a wonderful woman and she is lucky to have Susan working with her. When I had Linda over for her birthday she talked about the award banquet, but she led us to believe the award was for Susan. When I took her home, I saw the award & realized it was for Linda. I'm excited for both women & proud to say that I know them both! Nancy Hoffman
