Deer Park and Randallstown Elementary schools, both Title I schools, were honored by the Maryland State Department of Education for improving student achievement.
The schools were named “High Performing Reward Schools” for meeting the state’s standard for racial and special services subgroups for two years in a row and having a 10 percent or less achievement gap between students in subgroups and the rest of the schools’ students.
Title I is a federal grant program that provides additional academic support and learning opportunities for students in low-income communities.
