Student-athlete Alyssa Taylor has done it again, winning yet another honor in her illustrious sports career. She was chosen as a Baltimore Sun Varsity first team all-metro girls cross country runner. All of Taylor’s hard work and dedication is definitely paying off.
Taylor began running cross country her junior year, and in her senior year she started winning more and more titles and honors. To her name, Taylor has a regional championship, a top three place finish at counties, and a top three place finish at states - all in her favorite and best race, the three-mile. After cross country season was over, Taylor participated in the Foot Locker North East Cross Country Championship. Taylor is not happy with her finish, but she’s determined to redeem herself and do better in the future.
With the indoor track season in full swing, Taylor is working hard to prepare herself for college. Running the mile, two-mile, and the 800-meter race is keeping Taylor ready for what’s to come.
Training every day and living on a strict diet is getting Taylor ready for her upcoming college career. When asked about her future, Taylor said, “I plan on running in college; this sport is my passion and I want to take it as far as a can.” She has already been accepted by several colleges, and interest has been shown by a number of others. Waiting for more acceptance letters to come, Taylor has many decisions to make about her future.
We at Owings Mills High School are extremely proud of Alyssa and know that she will always be a success in whatever she does.
