Warrant Out for Attempted Robbery in Owings Mills Square Parking Lot

Baltimore County Police have a warrant out for the arrest of Carole Sue Bassette in an attempted robbery in the parking lot at Owings Mills Square.

Baltimore County Police have a warrant for the arrest of a woman accused of attempted robbery.

Carole Sue Bassette, 27, of no fixed address, is wanted for second-degree assault and attempted robbery after she banged on the car door of an 18-year-old and demanded money in the parking lot of Owings Mills Square on Nov. 18, according to police.

At 6:10 p.m. on Nov. 18, an 18-year-old female was in the parking lot of the shopping center, which includes Best Buy and Chick-fil-A, when Bassette started banging on her car door, tried to open the door and said “give me your f***ing money,” according to a police report. The victim left the scene and called police.

Bassette is described as a white female, 5-feet 4-inches tall, 120 pounds and usually wears her hair in a ponytail to one side. She has a criminal past, according to Lt. Rick Landsman of the Baltimore County Police Franklin Precinct.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911.

This woman approached me while I was pumping gas near the Safeway at Owings Mills Blvd and asked me if I could spare a dollar or two! She had blondish hair in a bun and was wearing a navy blue sweatshirt jacket. I said No and she walked away. I called the police as she walked away across the parking lot and I saw her go up to another car near the Fed EX. By time the police arrived she was gone. I am happy to report that the police responded and stayed in the parking lot watching for her. Unfortunately, she probably saw the police car. Posting crime stories is very helpful for the public's safety.

I have known Susan for many years. We were in Child Study together when my children were young.Read More She is a wonderful woman & I am proud to see her honored for her work with Linda. I also have gotten to know Linda from hanging at Mars & the Dollar Store. Linda & I have become friendly & I have had her over for dinner a few times and recently had a birthday party for her at my house. Linda is a wonderful woman and she is lucky to have Susan working with her. When I had Linda over for her birthday she talked about the award banquet, but she led us to believe the award was for Susan. When I took her home, I saw the award & realized it was for Linda. I'm excited for both women & proud to say that I know them both! Nancy Hoffman
