Teen Sent To Hickey for Attempted Armed Robbery

A 15-year-old Gywnn Oak resident was charged with attempted robbery and sent to the Charles Hickey School in Parkville after he tried to rob an Owings Mills beauty shop.

A Gwynn Oak teenager is charged as a juvenile after he tried to rob an Owings Mills beauty shop with a pellet gun Monday.

The 15-year-old walked into Beauty 2 U on Groffs Mill Drive in Owings Mills Monday at 3:55 p.m. and pulled a gun on the manager, according to a press release. The manager tried to wrestle the gun away from the teen, who fled the store.

Police spotted the teen and chased him to the back of New Town High School and arrested him. Police recovered the pellet gun, which closely resembles a handgun.

The 15-year-old is being detained at the Charles Hickey School in Parkville.

Beauty 2 U was robbed at gunpoint in September, and police charged a 21-year-old man with armed robbery and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony in the incident.

Really sad that someone would use a replica gun to try and rob someone. its not cool, it messes up the sport for those that do play and it can get you in trouble messing around with a airsoft gun that looks real ya know. wish some people would read safety concerns http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-safety.htm it would def help the sport out in my opinion.
