Santa Sightings: Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department

Santa took a ride on a Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department engine on Wednesday night. He'll be out again tonight.

I appreciate the holiday spirit as much as anyone else, but as a concerned citizen I question why my tax dollars go towards this. Whatever happened to separation of church and state?

Really!!! All the ghastly things going on around us and in our neighborhood and it has come down to this? A “concerned citizen” worried about how his tax money is being spent. I apologize for the shock but really look around if this is the worst thing you see your tax money is paying for consider yourself lucky. I for one look forward to it every year, I have three kids and we can’t wait to hear the engine coming up the road. It is a memory my family will be appreciative forever. And long after I am gone I hope my kids will think back to the times we would chase Santa around on the neighborhood. Glyndon Volunteer Fire department please keep up the exceptional work. You are a major part of my family’s holiday and memories. I am sure we are not the only family you have brought a smile to. PS. I will chip in for gas if you get to many grievances from “concerned citizen”.

What religion does Santa represent? This church and state argument is a pc ploy for everything that bothers people. Keep up the great work and the lifting of Christmas spirits GVFD. We definitely need it more so now then ever.
