Reward Offered for Info About Commercial Burglary Suspect

Police have identified a man they believe is responsible for a series of office burglaries across Baltimore County.

Baltimore County police are asking for the public's help in locating a man they believe is responsible for a series of commercial burglaries across Baltimore County.

A man identified by police only as "Billy Evans" (see photo) has been linked to burglaries in Lutherville-Timonium, Reisterstown and, most recently, Catonsville

"The burglaries are occurring during the evening and overnight hours, when the suspect gains access to the businesses by prying doors or breaking door glass," reads a Baltimore County police release. "Money and checks, computer equipment, and food have been taken during some of the burglaries, and nothing at all was taken in several of the crimes."

Police are now offering a reward for information regarding his whereabouts.

From a release:

"Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587).

To text a message to Metro Crime Stoppers, send to "CRIMES" (274637), then enter the message starting with "MCS," or e-mail a tip to www.metrocrimestoppers.org. Those contacting Metro Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000."

Evans allegedly . Patch reported five office suites in the 1400 block of York Road were broken into on Dec. 6. Two laptops, $800 worth of stamps, and a cellphone were reported stolen.

"Detectives have been able to link those cases to four other similar burglaries of office buildings that occurred in the 100 block of Painters Mill Road, the unit block of Painters Mill Road, and the 10000-block of Reisterstown Road in December," the release states.

Police also responded—just last week—to the 400 block of Frederick Road in Catonsville for several overnight burglaries. Electronic equipment, money and postage stamps were taken from Step Well Podiatry and Advanced Hearing Centers. Only cash was stolen from a third business, Comfort Care.
