(Updated) Police: Man Stabbed Woman Repeatedly Before She Collapsed

The altercation happened in the middle of the road Thursday in Owings Mills.

This story was updated at 2 p.m. Friday.

Baltimore County Police have issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder for a man they said repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend in the middle of the road in Owings Mills.

Police have declined to reveal his name until after his bail hearing.

According to police: witnesses told investigators that they saw a woman running away from a Mitsubishi Galant that was stopped in the middle of the road Thursday evening in the 11300-block of Owings Mills Boulevard.

They also told police, who arrived at 7:51 p.m., that the suspect, a man, was seen exiting the same vehicle, when he then chased the woman and stabbed her in the back and neck several times before she collapsed, police said.

They said the man then jumped back into his vehicle and was “recklessly speeding from the scene,” police said.

A short distance from the stabbing, the suspect was involved in a head-on collision, police said.

Both the victim and the suspect remain in critical condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

The four other people involved in the crash were also taken to the hospital, but police said their conditions are unknown.

Nice, quick reporting. I just heard something was going on Owings Mills Blvd, decided to check Patch, and the story is already up! Hopefully police catch the suspect.

Domestic Related=Arrest, No Doubt !

Sadly, most female victims of domestic violence evoke spousal privilege and refuse to testify against their partners. Even in cases as egregious as this.

Another day in the ghetto.

I didn't know Owings Mills was the ghetto.

Karma's a *****.

Parts of it are pretty bad. Read the news...

OM is not a ghetto and this area certainly is not as I live right down the street. A young, innocent family was caught in the crossfire of a random domestic dispute. They were simply driving home when this psycho sped away from a stabbing and crashed into them. Think before you comment.

I've lived here before and I do follow news. Read about all the random robberies and whatnot. But, whatever you say.

Random robberies are par for the course in Baltimore, no matter where you live. Ghetto is very different from "crime." Try living along North Avenue before you call Owings Mills Blvd. "the Ghetto."

yes north ave is a far cry from owings mills , so not the ghetto. just some crazy guy out of control. it happens everywhere , sometimes in our own backyard!! it wasn't a pretty scene... poor innocent family just driving home, but they where ok!

Crime happens everywhere. In the grand scheme of things, anywhere public transportation goes, crime is higher. Try seeing the glass as a glass of water, not a glass half full.

OM is rapidly becoming the ghetto, don't kid yourselves.

Amazing how an incident that should evoke compassion for the victims, quickly evolves into a racially logistic diatribe. I live on the Reisterstown / Owings Mills Border, and both areas have many positive aspects. Those who throw the "ghetto" word around should watch the 'History Channel' this month, and they'll learn the 'Real Meaning' of the word! We have no Ghettos in this United States, only depressed areas, where, if the population could be instilled with a little civic pride, could be the next Towson, or any other "Nice Area"! My heart and Prayers go out to the victims of senseless crime enveloping our area. May they recieve -Justice!!!

The racially tinged comments are pathetic and mean and not based on facts .
Tracie June 03, 2012 at 12:45 PM
Most of the comments on this site are racially tinged... In 2012 I would never believe that SOME people still have such venom in their hearts....it's pretty pathetic. I just wonder what they teach their children....I can only imagine...
Adam Thomas June 03, 2012 at 03:45 PM
Uh, not seeing any "racially tinged" comments here... Don't be so sensitive.
