Police Blotter: Motorcycles, Bikes, Gun, Jewelry, Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department's Franklin Precinct, which covers Reisterstown and Owings Mills. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

First-Degree Burglary

2400 block of Velvet Ridge Drive in Owings Mills. Between 10:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Oct. 5. A burglar forced open the front door after attempting to enter through the rear patio doors and stole a jewelry box containing diamond earrings, pearl earrings and an antique cameo.

4500 block of Springwater Court in Owings Mills. 2:15 p.m. Oct 2. Two men entered the apartment with no forced entry and stole a 46-inch LG flat screen, Xbox 360 game controller, a silver diamond ring and an Acer laptop. The tenant saw the suspects enter a vehicle and was able to give police a tag number.

Unit block of Cheltenham Court in Owings Mills. Between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2. A burglar broke the rear window to enter home and went through drawers but nothing was taken.

1400 block of Oakland Road in Reisterstown. Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Oct 1. A burglar entered the house through an unlocked front door while the homeowner was doing yard work in a wooded area and stole a safe containing multiple items, a pillow case and a bag of change.

6300 block of Deer Park Road in Reisterstown. Between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Oct 1. A burglar entered the home through an unlocked door and stole a wedding ring, high school ring, Ford memorial ring, a Tag Heuer watch, a silver dollar and a 25-caliber handgun.

Second-Degree Burglary

Unit block of Pleasant Hill Road in Owings Mills. Between 6 p.m. Oct. 3 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5. A burglar stole two yellow Yamaha YZ 465s from a detached garage and scratched the driver’s side door of a 1974 Sabb Sonett in the act.

200 block of Delight Road in Reisterstown. Between 1 p.m. Sept. 15 and 6:50 p.m. Oct. 5. A thief stole a red and black Mongoose bike, an iPod nano and Sony headphones from a unlocked garage.

Fourth-Degree Burglary

9700 block of Watts Road in Owings Mills. 6:10 p.m. Oct. 6. A man saw a burglar trying to steal a child’s bicycle from his unlocked garage, and confronted the burglar, who ran towards New Town High School. While chasing the burglar, the homeowner saw another burglar riding his Roadmaster mountain bike away from the scene. He lost sight of both burglars near the school.

Unit block of Wengate Road in Owings Mills. Between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5 and 7 a.m. Oct. 6. A burglar stole a black and grey Tony Hawk bike, a pink and gray Mongoose bike and a green and black Mongoose bike from the backyard. The yard is not fenced in and the bikes were not chained.

200 block of Pidco Road in Reisterstown. Between 10 p.m. on Sept. 30 and 6:40 a.m. on Oct. 1. A thief took a gas can from an unlocked plastic storage container in the fenced in backyard.
