Owings Mills Beauty Shop Robbed at Gunpoint Monday

An armed man stole money and hair extensions from an Owings Mills store Monday evening.

A man armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun robbed Beauty 2 U in Owings Mills Monday evening.

The suspect, who had a scar above his right eye and a tattoo on the right side of his neck, stole money and hair extensions, according to police.

This is the eighth commercial armed robbery in the Owings Mills/Reisterstown area since August 8. Most recently, the Zales at the Owings Mills Mall was robbed on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

On Monday, the suspect entered the store, walked around and left. He returned 30 minutes later and asked if he could buy hair extensions. When an employee went to ring him up, he pulled out a gun and demanded money. He left with money and hair extensions and fled on foot in the direction of Lakeside Boulevard, according to a police report.

Police believe five of the other seven commercial armed robberies are connected. Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Baltimore County Police’s Franklin Precinct, was waiting to speak with detectives to determine whether or not this incident may be connected to others.

The Franklin Precinct has devoted additional resources to the commercial robbery trend, police said.

That is scary. We heard the helicopters flying overhead from our home and our children were outside riding their bikes and playing football and we had to make them come inside. I hope they catch these thugs who are terrorizing our neighborhood.

Blame the MTA for the crime in our area. The slime comes out of the city, steals things and goes back to pawn it off.

You can't blame the MTA for crime. As you can see the "slime" as you are referring to them as, are more than likely living in the neighborhood they are victimizing. I'm so tired of hearing these semi-racial slurs blaming the 'city' and transportation in/out of the city....there are criminals in the county too!!!!!

I also hope they catch this fool who is victimizing this neighborhood. This description sounds exact to the guy who robbed the Sunoco 2 weeks back, and I think that happened on a Monday as well...I heard the helicopters that night and saw all the police. What bothers me is the most, other than the actual robberies, is the times they are occurring...that shopping center is not open late, and the Sunoco robbery was before midnight. We need an increased police presence around here and even with these robberies taking place, I'm just not seeing it.
