A man armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun robbed Beauty 2 U in Owings Mills Monday evening.
The suspect, who had a scar above his right eye and a tattoo on the right side of his neck, stole money and hair extensions, according to police.
This is the eighth commercial armed robbery in the Owings Mills/Reisterstown area since August 8. Most recently, the Zales at the Owings Mills Mall was robbed on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
On Monday, the suspect entered the store, walked around and left. He returned 30 minutes later and asked if he could buy hair extensions. When an employee went to ring him up, he pulled out a gun and demanded money. He left with money and hair extensions and fled on foot in the direction of Lakeside Boulevard, according to a police report.
Police believe five of the other seven commercial armed robberies are connected. Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Baltimore County Police’s Franklin Precinct, was waiting to speak with detectives to determine whether or not this incident may be connected to others.
The Franklin Precinct has devoted additional resources to the commercial robbery trend, police said.
