A man was extracted from his vehicle and taken to shock trauma after he collided with a utility pole on Main Street during rush hour Wednesday evening.

“A 1993 Suburu Legacy traveling southbound on Reisterstown Road, for some unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a BGE pole,” said Baltimore County Police Detective Cathy Batton. The crash occurred at 5:34 p.m.

Witnesses at the scene say the man collided with pole, at Main Street and Walgrove Road, while avoiding another collision.

The driver, an adult male, was taken to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma center with life-threatening injuries. His passenger, also an adult male, was taken to Sinai Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Fire officials from Baltimore County, Reisterstown and Glyndon were on the scene and were seen removing the men from the car. Witnesses said both men were pinned against the dashboard.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Batton said.

I have known Susan for many years. We were in Child Study together when my children were young.Read More She is a wonderful woman & I am proud to see her honored for her work with Linda. I also have gotten to know Linda from hanging at Mars & the Dollar Store. Linda & I have become friendly & I have had her over for dinner a few times and recently had a birthday party for her at my house. Linda is a wonderful woman and she is lucky to have Susan working with her. When I had Linda over for her birthday she talked about the award banquet, but she led us to believe the award was for Susan. When I took her home, I saw the award & realized it was for Linda. I'm excited for both women & proud to say that I know them both! Nancy Hoffman
