Owings Mills High Competes in Physics Olympics

Owings Mills High School put in its strongest showing yet at the Physics Olympics competition.

A team of students from Owings Mills High School placed seventh out of 35 teams in the Physics Olympics held at Dulaney High School last Saturday, February 23rd.  The team was led by science teacher Shawn Schuman and comprised of seven members, including Devin Lewis, Kevin Moy, Shardul Patel, Mamadou Diallo, Obinna Ewulum, and Justin Nguyen.

According to Schuman, this is the 5th year he has taken students to the competition, but this is the team’s strongest performance yet.

Kevin Moy and Obinna Ewulum noted that the best part of the experience was working with the team and a sense of accomplishment.

When asked what they learned from the experience, Moy and Ewulum remarked, “Efficiency is important, and no knowledge is a waste, and anything is better than nothing.”
