The group home worker was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months of probation for abusing a disabled resident in a group home near Randallstown.

Olufunke Rachel Anifowose, 36, of Reisterstown, was found guilty of abuse in the second degree for causing a burn on a group home resident.

Judge Kathleen G. Cox in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County sentenced her to 18 months in prison, all suspended, and placed her on 18 months of probation, according to a news release from the Maryland Attorney General's Office.

The incident occurred near Randallstown on Feb. 6, 2011 when the victim was under the sole care of Anifowose, the release states.

The victim was burned on her left cheek, and a family member found the burn, it states.
