Almond Recovering From Minor Surgery

Council chairwoman misses Tuesday work session.

Council Chairwoman Vicki Almond did something uncharacteristic Tuesday during  Baltimore County Council's work session.

She missed it.

Almond, a Reisterstown Democrat and the since 1983 years, is typically ever-present during council meetings but yesterday her seat at the head of the table was occupied by Councilman Tom Quirk.

Quirk, a Catonsville Democrat, told the audience at the meeting that Almond "couldn't be here today because she's recovering from a minor surgery."

The nature of the surgery was not immediately known.

Also unknown is whether or not Almond will be present when the council holds it's legislative session on Monday.

In any case, best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to the council chairwoman.

I have known Susan for many years. We were in Child Study together when my children were young.Read More She is a wonderful woman & I am proud to see her honored for her work with Linda. I also have gotten to know Linda from hanging at Mars & the Dollar Store. Linda & I have become friendly & I have had her over for dinner a few times and recently had a birthday party for her at my house. Linda is a wonderful woman and she is lucky to have Susan working with her. When I had Linda over for her birthday she talked about the award banquet, but she led us to believe the award was for Susan. When I took her home, I saw the award & realized it was for Linda. I'm excited for both women & proud to say that I know them both! Nancy Hoffman
