Get Out the Ice Skates, Reisterstown Sportsplex Offers Winter Programs

Learn to Skate class members will perform on Dec. 21.

If you're in the Reisterstown/Owings Mills area, you can spend an afternoon ice skating without having to brave the frigid temperatures outside. The Reisterstown Sports Plex is offering free skate times and classes this winter. 

On Saturday, Dec. 21, watch skaters from the Learn to Skate program perform. In addition the Reisterstown Figure Skating Club will be on hand and there will be  Synchronized Skating exhibitions. There is free admission during this event and it will run from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. 

Winter Classes and Programs

The Learn to Skate program at Reisterstown Sportsplex includes eight weeks of lessons for $110. The classes are offered on the following days/times:

1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24
6:15 PM - 7:15 p.m.
Pre-Hockey Class is included on Mondays

1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26
6:15 PM - 7:15 p.m.

1/4, 1/11, (SKIP 1/18), 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1
12:45-1:45 p.m.


1/3, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
$76.00 for eight weeks of lessons

The Reisterstown Sportsplex will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Public skating hours are Monday from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday from 8 to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 8 to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. Admission is $8.
