Historic Look Back: Gwynnbrook Distilling Company

A look back at Owings Mills, as it once was.

Founded in 1906, the Gwnnbrook Distilling Company was one of two distilleries n Maryland that remained open during Prohibition, making "medicinal liquors," the Baltimore County Library's website said.

The distillery, on Bonita Avenue, finally shut down in 1974. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, it was demolished and replaced with the Baltimore Colts training facility.

Today, at occupy that space.
