Tu B'shevat Dinner & Wine Tasting
Har Sinai Congregation, 2905 Walnut Ave, Owings Mills, MD | Get Directions »
$30.00
Har Sinai Congregation will hold a public Tu B’shevat Seder dinner and wine tasting Friday, Jan. 25, at 5:30 p.m. to recognize Tu B’shevat, a Jewish festival celebrating the bounty of the natural world. A musical Shabbat Shira service will follow at 7:30 p.m. commemorating the song the Israelites sang after crossing the Red Sea. The dinner and service will take place at the synagogue at 2905 Walnut Ave. in Owings Mills.
“Tu B’shevat celebrates the renewal of trees, which are vital not just to the natural world, but also to human existence. When we celebrate Tu B’shevat, we celebrate the entirety of the natural world in a way that connects us to the earth,” Rabbi Benjamin Sharff said. “We’re reminded to cherish the great gift of the natural world.”
Adam’s Garden of Eatin’ will cater the dinner of Sephardic three-bean salad, lemon thyme chicken breast in sun-dried tomato Madeira sauce, sweet yellow corn polenta and haricot vert sauté, and Viennese desserts. Sharff will lead the Seder, while congregation President Stewart Sachs will serve as the sommelier.
The service is free. Dinner costs $30 per person, and babysitting is available for $5 per child. For more information or to make reservations, contact Susan Bernstein at 410-654-9393 or sbernstein@harsinai-md.org.
